That she is a dau of Thomas Bishop is confirmed by a letter from Thomas Bishop to John Phinney of Barnstable, 10 Apr 1654, concerning his (Bishop's) grandchildren, the children of Abigail by her 1st husband Henry Coggin (Plymouth Colony Deeds, 2:1:135-36 [FHL #567789]). The mar is also recorded in Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. (Boston, 1855-61), 8:47 (FHL #974.4 N2n). Also recorded under date of 9 July 1650 in "Scituate and Barnstable Church Records," NEHGR, 9(1855):287 (FHL #974 B2ne).
