- BIRTH: Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. (Boston, 1855-61), 8:13-14 (FHL #974.4 N2n). Although this rec suggests that Joseph's children were born in Sandwich, it is unlikely, as Joseph was in Eastham from 1 Jun 1647 when he was proposed to the court as lieutenant of the Eastham military company (Shurtleff, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 2:117). He seems to have resided there the rest of his life.
