- BIRTH: William's own will, below, makes his "brother" Edward Rogers overseer. Edward Rogers is the only one of the 7 children of William Rogers, Sr, of Watford mentioned in his own will who is called by name. Hence, William is another son of the elder William Rogers. See the will of William Rogers of Watford, 20 Apr 1553, proved 19 May 1553, Archdeaconry Court of Northampton, reg wills, M:30 (FHL #187582). Date and place of birth are approximations. The children of William Rogers, Sr, were all under 16 in 1553, hence they were born 1537-53. It is believed that William was one of the oldest children because he was himself married and had a son Thomas about 1564.
