- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. William is identified in the will of his mother, Anne Derby of Sterthill, 6 Oct 1645, proved 22 Feb 1649/50, P.C.C., 21 Pembroke (FHL #092175). William deposed aged 25 yrs in a chancery suit, June 1632, Phelps v. Gardiner, Chancery Depositions before 1714, 693/20, cited in G. Andrews Moriarty, "Genealogical Research in England-Derby," NEHGR, 79(1925):420 (FHL #974 B2ne).
MAR: No mar rec found. See Bristol Burgess Book, 1607-51, p. 216, where William Darbye, mercer, was admitted into the liberties of Bristol on 18 Jul 1632, as husband of Joane, dau of Mr. William Baldwyn (FHL #1597375).
DEATH: Death date is mentioned in the will of his son William Derby of Honiton, Devon, 8 May 1682, proved 1682, P.C.C., 117 Cottle (FHL #092337). He probably died at Sterthill where he paid hearth tax in 1664.
