- BIRTH: Apparently from the writings of Sir Symonds D'Ewes, grandnephew of William Symonds, Harleian ms, #381, British Museum, cited in G. Andrews Moriarty, "Genealogical Research in England - Symonds-Femel," NEHGR, 80(1926):364 (#974 B2ne). Birth year is calculated from age 65 at death according to D'Ewes. Thomas stated in his own will, below, that he was born in Taunton. He is also mentioned in the will of his grandmother, Johan Femell of Taunton, 29 Jun 1576, proved 4 Feb 1577/8, P.C.C., 8 Langley (FHL #091957).
