- CHR: Par reg of St. Mary Magdalene, Taunton (FHL #1526734 item 5). Parents names are not included in chr entry, but he is identified as a son of Thomas Symonds in the writings of Sir Symonds D'Ewes (1602-1650), great-grandson of Thomas Symonds (Harleian ms, #381, British Museum, cited in G. Andrews Moriarty, "Genealogical Research in England -Symonds-Femell," NEHGR, 80[1926]:364-65 [FHL #974 B2ne]). He is also mentioned in the will of his grandmother, Johan Femell of Taunton, 29 Jun 1576, proved 4 Feb 1577/8, P.C.C., 8 Langley (FHL #091957).
MAR: The papers of Sir Symond D'Ewes, above, state that Lawrence married Susan Boys of Barnstable (Moriarty, "Genealogical Research," NEHGR, 80:364-65). However, the mar rec found in the Barnstable par reg calls her Susan Beynon (Thomas Wainwright, ed, PARISH REGISTER OF BARNSTABLE [Exeter, 1903], 10 [FHL #962417]).
