- BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations. John mentioned his brother Stephen in his will, below. MAR: The will of John Hyde, below, mentions, among others, wife Margaret, son Thomas Hyde, and dau Elizabeth Cartmyle. John Butler was coexecutor of the will. To dau Elizabeth he gave the lease of his manor at Aldbury, Herts. The will of William Butler of Aldbury, 10 Sep 1555, proved 24 Jun 1556, mentions "cousins" John Cartmyle and Thomas Hyde, gentleman of London. The latter was named coexecutor of the will. Also mentioned was his brother John Butler (P.C.C., 9 Ketchyn [FHL #091929]). It seems reasonable to conclude that Margaret, wife of John Hyde, is a sister of William Butler of Aldbury, Herts.
