- BIRTH: Richard is called brother of John Hyde in the rental survey of Dorset lands made about 1544. See THE HERTS GENEALOGIST AND ANTIQUARY, 3(1899):257 (FHL #091759). The i.p.m. of John Hyde, 24 Oct 1545, shows that Richard was a tenant of the tenements of Hyde, Dorset in the parish of Lodres (Ibid, 3:258). Stephen Hyde is called "brother" in the will of John Hyde of the King's Exchequer (London), 14 Aug 1543, proved 1 Oct 1545, P.C.C., 36 Pynnyng (FHL #091920). Stephen Hyde's epitaph in the Fleet Church, Dorset displays the arms granted to John Hyde, Sr, in 1525. For epitaph, see John Hutchins, THE HISTORY AND ANTIQUITIES OF THE COUNTY OF DORSET, 2 vols. (Westminster, 1863), 2:743 (FHL #Q974.33 H2hu). For arms of John Hyde, Sr, see NOTES & QUERIES FOR SOMERSET AND DORSET, 18(1926):154-55 (FHL #942.3 B2n).
DEATH: Richard was living on the date of his brother John's i.p.m, above.
