- BIRTH: VITAL RECORDS OF BOLTON TO 1854 AND VERNON TO 1852 (Hartford, 1909), pt. 1, Bolton, 25 (FHL #823677). Daniel is also mentioned in the will of his grandfather, Nathaniel Gilbert of Coventry, 29 Oct 1760, proved 12 May 1761, Windham District Probate Files, #1611 (FHL #1032669).
MAR #1: Vermont Vital Records, 1st series, -1870 (FHL #027558). Daniel was "of Sharon."
MAR #2: No mar rec found. Daniel, son of Daniel Gilbert and wife Irene, died on 14 May 1816, and was buried in the Village Cemetery, South Royalton, Vermont (Vermont Vital Records, 1st series, -1870 [FHL #027558]). Irene is called a dau of Abraham and Irene Burnap, born at Coventry, Connecticut, 22 Sep 1766, in Henry Wyckoff Belknap, THE BURNAP-BURNETT GENEALOGY (Salem, MA, 1925), 98, 140 (FHL #896923). No proof of Irene's parentage has been found.
MAR #3: Vermont Vital Record, 1st series, -1870 (FHL #027558). Wife is called Lydia Eaton of Tunbridge on mar entry, but she is called "Mrs. Lydia Goodspeed," a widow, in Evelyn M. Wood Lovejoy, HISTORY OF ROYALTON, VERMONT, 2 vols. (Burlington, VT, 1911), 2:803 (FHL #974.365/R1 H2l). Lydia appears to be the widow of Daniel Eaton of Tunbridge. Daniel and Lydia Eaton had a son Timothy born at Tunbridge on 11 Jun 1790 (Tunbridge Vital Records, A:110 [FHL #028990]). He was not listed in the 1810 U.S. census of Tunbridge. Lydia, dau of William and Mary (Hoyt) Clements married (1) Daniel Eaton, (2) a Mr. Gilbert, (3) a Mr. Currier, according to Percival Wood Clement, ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS OF ROBERT CLEMENTS, ed. Mary Lovering Holman, 2 vols. (Philadelphia, n.d.), 1:259 (FHL #1036570).
