- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Daniel is mentioned in a slave deed from his father, 20 Feb 1732/3, Lyme Deeds, 5:227 (FHL #004680). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: No mar rec found in original source records. The mar is mentioned in Homer W. Brainard, Harold Simeon Gilbert, and Clarence Almon Torrey, THE GILBERT FAMILY (New Haven, 1953), 108 (FHL #929.273 G337b).
DEATH: Date of death is given as 19 Oct "1782" in Salem gravestone inscription, below. However, Brainard gives the year as 1784. In light of the deed of Daniel Gilbert of Lyme to Stephen Miner, 10 Mar 1783, it seems likely that Brainard's interpretation is accurate (Lyme Deeds, 16:380 [FHL #004685]).
