- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Hester is identified in the will of her father, Jonathan Gilbert of Hartford, 10 Sep 1674, proved 1 Mar 1683, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 1:307 (FHL #974.6 P2m). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: No mar rec found. Hester's mar to Charles Dickinson is suggested by the will of Hester's mother, widow Mary Gilbert of Hartford, 23 May 1700, proved 10 Jul 1700, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Manwaring, DIGEST, 2:64-65. In this will Mary mentions her son-in-law Charles Dickinson but does not mention Hester, who was apparently dead at this time. Since all the other daughters of Jonathan and Mary (Wells) Gilbert are mentioned in the will of Mary Gilbert by their married names, all can be eliminated as Dickinson's wife except Hester.
DEATH: No death rec found. Hester apparently died before the date of her mother's will, above.
