- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Daniel identified himself as a son of Thomas Stanton in an unrecorded deed to his brother Thomas, 1681, published in William A. Stanton, A RECORD OF THOMAS STANTON (Albany, NY, 1891), 60-61 (FHL #928379). Daniel never attested to the deed before his death in Barbados. Thomas Stanton attempted to perfect his title to the property on 8 Oct 1715 by application to the General Court (J. H. Trumbull and Charles J. Hoadly, eds, THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF CONNECTICUT, 15 vols. [Hartford, 1850-90], 5:521-22 [FHL #974.6 N2c]). Date and place of birth are approximations based on family history and chronology.
MAR: No mar rec found. Daniel's will, below, mentions his wife Martha as well as his mother-in-law Honor Pickford. The will of Robert Jones of St. Philip's Parish, Barbados, 18 Jul 1683, proved 10 Aug 1683, gives to "my sister Stanton," "bro. Danyell Stanton," and mother "Peekford" (Joanne McRee Sanders, BARBADOS RECORDS: WILLS AND ADMINISTRATIONS, 3 vols. [Marceline, MO, 1979-81], 2:195 [FHL #972.981 P2s]). Hence, Daniel married Martha, sister of Robert Jones.
