- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Sarah is identified in the estate recs of her mother, Anna Stanton of Stonington, New London District Probate Files, #5038 (FHL #1025050). Date of birth is calculated from age 59 on gravestone inscription, below. Place of birth is suggested by family history and chronology. See William A. MAR #1: Thomas W. Baldwin, comp, VITAL RECORDS OF CAMBRIDGE, 2 vols. (Boston, 1914-15), 2:316 (FHL #496864). That the mar belongs to this Sarah Stanton is strongly suggested by a deed from the heirs of Thomas Stanton of "Cambridge Village alias Newtown" to Samuel Stanton of Stonington, 10 Nov 1698, for 200 acres in Stonington given to Thomas Prentice by Thomas Stanton, deceased (Stonington Deeds, 2:308 [FHL #005593]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. Sarah is called the wife of Lt. William Denison in her mother's estate file, 16 Apr 1711, above. Mar date is given as May 1683 in William A. Stanton, A RECORD OF THOMAS STANTON (Albany, NY, 1891), 74 (FHL #928379 item 2).
