- BIRTH: No birth rec found, but Elizabeth is without doubt a dau of Thomas Holcombe, as no other Holcombe family is found residing in Windsor or anywhere in New England at the time she married. Date and place of birth are approximations. She was probably born in Dorchester, where Thomas Holcombe first appeared on the freeman list of 14 May 1634 (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, ed, RECORDS OF THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE MASSACHUSETTS BAY, 5 vols. [Boston, 1853-54], 1:369 [FHL #974.4 N2n]). Thomas Holcombe's presence can also be documented in Dorchester on 1 Dec 1634 and 12 Aug 1635 (DORCHESTER TOWN RECORDS, 4th Report Boston Record Commissioners [Boston, 1883] 9,12 [FHL #974.46/D1 N2d]).
