- CHR: "Scituate and Barnstable Church Records," NEHGR, 9(1855):282 (FHL #974 B2ne).
MAR #1: No mar rec found. She is called Bathshua "Marsh" in the will of her brother, Barnabas Lothrop of Barnstable, 8 Jun 1713, proved 29 Nov 1715, Barnstable Co. Probate, 3:261-64 (FHL #904598). She was no doubt the widow of Alexander Marsh of Braintree whose will, 19 Mar 1696/7, proved 31 Mar 1697/8, mentions wife Bathshua (Suffolk Co. Probate, #2440, [n.s.] 8:128-30 [FHL #594175]). However, it is clear that Bathshua was previously married to Benjamin Bale of Boston, whose estate was adm by his widow Bathshua, 27 Apr 1680 (Suffolk Co. Probate, #1155, (o.s.) 9:11-12 [FHL #584129]). On 20 Nov 1691 Samuel Trott, et al, released "Bathshua Marsh wife of Alexander Marsh of Braintree, administratrix her former husband Benjamin Bale's estate" the sum of 87 pounds owed to them from the estate (Suffolk Co. Deeds, 17:324 [FHL #493937]). Bathshua's gravestone inscription, below, states that she was 82 when she died on 8 Jan 1722/3.
MAR #2: No mar rec found. See discussion, above.
DEATH: DORCHESTER BIRTHS, MARRIAGES AND DEATHS, 21st Report Boston Record Commissioners (Boston, 1890), 131 (FHL #974.46/D1 V2r). Dorchester is now part of Boston.
BUR: "Inscriptions from the Old Burial Ground in Dorchester," NEHGR, 5(1851):255 (FHL #974 B2ne). Aged 82 yrs.
