MAR #1: No mar rec found. She is called Elizabeth "Button" in the will of her father, John Wheeler of Newbury, 28 Mar 1668, proved 11 Oct 1670 (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1916-20], 2:200-201 [FHL #974.45 P2p]). A deposition by Lucy Wills and Sarah Lidden, 25 Jun 1678, in the case of Thomas Duston, states that Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Duston, married 2nd to a Button, who was also deceased (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of the New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39, [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 1:225 [FHL #974.2 P2p]). Elizabeth was married to Matthias Button at Haverhill, below. Hence, she was first the wife of Thomas Duston.
