- BIRTH: There is no direct proof that Susannah, wife of John Bursley, is a dau of Humphrey and Susan Wythe. However, Abigail Chadwell, a proved dau of Humphrey Wythe, was called aunt of Sarah, dau of John Bursley, in a 1677 trial rec (Sybil Noyes, Charles Thornton Libby, and Walter Goodwin Davis, GENEALOGICAL DICTIONARY OF MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE [Portland, ME, 1928-39; repr Baltimore, 1979], 122-23, 773 [FHL #974 D2n]).
