- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Thomas is identified in the will of his father, Robert Burnap of Reading, 15 Nov 1688, proved 1 Oct 1689, Middlesex Co. Probate Files, 1st series, #3608 (FHL #386046). He is also mentioned in the will of his maternal grandfather, Thomas Miller of Bishops Stortford, 17 May 1627, no probate act, Commissary Court of the Bishop of London (Essex & Herts Div), orig wills, box 48, #22 (FHL #094414). Therefore, Thomas was born before 1627 and must have been born before the birth of his sister Ann in 1626.
MAR: VITAL RECORDS OF LYNN, 2 vols. (Salem, MA, 1905-1906), 2:77 (FHL #547549 item 2). The mar is also recorded in Reading vital recs, same date, but Mary's surname is omitted (Thomas W. Baldwin, comp, VITAL RECORDS OF READING [Boston, 1912], 300 [FHL #974.44/R1 V2b]).

NOTE: Do not confuse this Thomas Burnap with his cousin Thomas who died in Reading on 15 Apr 1691. The latter's estate recs show that he was aged about 60 years when he died; hence, he was no doubt the son of John Burnap of Aston, Herts, whose will mentions son Thomas in New England. This Thomas was baptized at Aston, 30 Jun 1630, and is called "cousin" in the will of Robert Burnap of Reading.
