MAR: No mar rec found. The children of John Philbrick, deceased, are among the heirs of William Knopp of Watertown who sold their interest in the state of their father to Nathaniel Coolidge, 1 Apr 1662 (Middlesex Co. Deeds, 2:201-203 [FHL #554000]). John Philbrick and his wife Ann are listed among the 8 persons who drowned at sea between Boston and Hampton, 20 Oct 1657 (see below). Their 1st child was born at Hampton, NH, 22 Sep 1650 (George F. Sanborn, Jr, and Melinde Lutz Sanborn, eds, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 2 vols. [Boston, 1992-98], 86 [FHL #974.26/H3 V2s]).
DEATH: Hampton, NH Vital Records, 1:566 (FHL #015159): "The 20th of the 8 mo. 1657 The said Hand of God upon Eight p'sons goeing in a vessell by sea from Hampton to boston who wear all swallowed up in the ocean sone after they ware out of the Harbour. The p'sons wear by name as followeth:... John Philbrick & Ann Philbrick his wife & Sarah Philbrick their daughter...."
