- BIRTH: No birth rec found. No other Crispe family was in the area into which Mercy could fit. Her marriage is recorded in Chelmsford and Groton. Benjamin Crispe was living in the latter place at the time. Furthermore, in the case of Robert Paris for selling liquor to the Indians, Mary Green and Deliverance Crispe, daughters of Benjamin Crispe, testified on behalf of Paris, who was the husband of Mercy Crispe, 16 Nov 1670 (Middlesex Co. Court Papers, fo. 55, #2 [FHL #901001]). Robert Paris was also known as Parish.
MAR: VITAL RECORDS OF CHELMSFORD (Salem, MA, 1914), 213 (FHL #974.44/C5 V2e). The mar is also recorded in VITAL RECORDS OF GROTON, 2 vols. (Salem, MA, 1926-27), 2:48 (FHL #873746 item 5). Wife was called "Mary" Crispe in Groton rec, but Benjamin already had a dau Mary living at this time.
