- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Deliverance Crispe, aged 20 yrs, testified in the case of Robert Paris for selling liquor to the Indians, 16 Nov 1670, with Mercy Green, a proved dau of Benjamin Crispe (Middlesex Co. Court Papers, fo. 55, #2 [FHL #901001]). No other Crispe family was in the area, and the age fits well with children of Benjamin Crispe.
MAR: No mar rec found. However, Lydia Longley, who was taken prisoner by the Indians during the raid on Groton, 27 Jul 1694, was carried to Canada, where she lived out her life in a Montreal convent. She was baptized Catholic on 24 Apr 1696. The baptismal rec states that she was born in Groton on 14 Apr 1674, the dau of William Longley and Deliverance Crispe. Details of the Longley massacre are found in Samuel A. Green, GROTON DURING THE INDIAN WARS (Groton, MA, 1883), 74-77 (FHL #974.44/G1 H2gs).
DEATH: Green, GROTON DURING THE INDIAN WARS, 74, citing a memorial erected in Groton in 1879. His death at the hands of the Indians is not recorded in Groton vital recs.
