- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Benjamin Garfield of Watertown receipted Ellis Barron for the legacy due his wife Mehitable from the estate of her late father, Timothy Hawkins, deceased, 1 Apr 1673 (Middlesex Co. Deeds, 5:21 [FHL #554001]). Ellis Barron married Mehitable's mother and was bonded as her guardian on 4 Apr 1654 (David Pulsifer, ed, "Records of the County of Middlesex," 4 vols. [transcript, 1851] 1:51 [FHL #892250]). In Apr 1665 Mehitable chose her uncle, John Hammond of Watertown, to be her guardian, suggesting she had arrived at the age of 14 (Middlesex Co. Court Papers, fo. 38, #5 [FHL #901001]). Birth year is calculated from age 14 in 1665.
