MAR #1: No mar rec found. Children of John Hammond and his wife Abigail are recorded in Watertown in 1653 and 1659 (WATERTOWN RECORDS, 8 vols. [Watertown, MA, 1894-1939], 1:3:17, 21 [FHL #014793]). The will of Elizabeth Salter, widow, of Dedham, Essex, Eng, 1 Dec 1660, proved 15 Jan 1662, mentions her dau Abigail Hammond in New England (Commissary Court of the Bishop of London [Essex & Herts], reg wills, 6:136 [FHL #094221]). MAR #2: Roger D. Joslyn, ed, VITAL RECORDS OF CHARLESTOWN, 2 vols. (Boston, 1984-95), 1:44 (FHL #974.46/C2 V2j). Sarah died on 14 Jan 1688 (William Thaddeus Harris, comp, EPITAPHS FROM THE OLD BURYING GROUND IN WATERTOWN [Boston, 1869], 28 [FHL #564365 item 4]).
MAR #3: VITAL RECORDS OF ROWLEY, 2 vols. (Salem, MA, 1928-31), 1:274 (FHL #974.45/R1 V28v). Date is incomplete with only day and month given, but it must have been after the death of Sarah in 1688[/9?], perhaps in 1689. She is called Prudence Cotten on mar entry. She was apparently the Prudence Wade who married at Rowley to Anthony Crosby, 28 Dec 1659. He was buried there, 16 Jan 1672 (Ibid, 1:422,457). She married 2nd to Rev. Seaborn Cotton, as Mrs. Prudence Crosbee, at Hampton, NH, 9 Jul 1673 (George F. Sanborn, Jr, and Melinde Lutz Sanborn, eds, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 2 vols. [Boston, 1992-98], 1:9,77 [FHL #974.26/H3 V2s]). The will of Seaborn Cotton, 20 May 1684, proved 7 Oct 1686, mentions the land of his wife Prudence from the estate of her husband Crosby (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39 [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 1:274-80 [FHL #974.2 P2p]).
