- CHR: Thornbury par reg (FHL #414766). Chr entry does not include the names of parents. It is believed that two Tayer families were having children in Thornbury between 1558 and 1573. One is Thomas who had son John baptized on 15 Oct 1558. Chronological considerations suggest that Richard is not the son of Thomas but the son of John Tayer, who appears as a godparent during the 1560s, administrator of the estate of Joan Follet in 1576, and in Thornbury manor court rolls, searched by Clive Beardsmore of Birmingham, Eng, corr, 5 Feb 1993.
