- BIRTH: William is identified as a son of Richard Fiske of Laxfield in Joseph L. Chester, ed, "Candler's Suffolk & Essex Pedigrees," ca 1655, 2 vols. (transcript, 1868-70; Norman Collection, Salford, Eng), 1:380-81 (FHL #Q942.6 D2c). Candler was a Puritan minister living in England and himself a 2nd great-grandson of Richard Fiske. Candler states that William "fled for religion in the days of Queen Mary." Date and place of birth are approximations.
