- BIRTH: Nicholas is identified in the will of his father, Roger Godbold of Dennington, 12 Jan 1535/6, proved 31 Oct 1536, P.C.C., 5 Grumwell (FHL #091915). He is also identified in the will of his mother, Margery Godbold of Dennington, 15 Nov 1542, proved 14 Dec 1542, Archdeaconry Court of Suffolk, reg wills 14:283 (FHL #096914). He had 2 children when his father wrote his will in 1535. Date and place of birth are approx.
MAR #1: No mar rec found. Nicholas had a wife Alice, who was buried at Badingham, 21 Jul 1562 (Irvine E. Gray, "The Parish Register of Badingham in the County of Suffolk" [transcript, 1924], 41 [FHL #993217 item 1]).
