- BIRTH: Henry is identified in the will of his father, Roger Godbold of Dennington, 12 Jan 1535/6, proved 31 Oct 1536, P.C.C., 5 Grumwell (FHL #091915). He is also identified in the will of his mother, Margery Godbold of Dennington, 15 Nov 1542, proved 14 Dec 1542, Archdeaconry Court of Suffolk, reg wills 14:283 (FHL #096914). His own will, below, identifies several siblings. Henry's age is suggested by his alumni records at Cambridge University, where he received a B.A. in 1515/6, probably about age 20 (John Venn and J. A. Venn, ALUMNI CANTABRIGIENSES, pt. 1, 4 vols. [Cambridge, 1922-27], 2:226 [FHL #942.59/C1 J2c]).
