MAR: No mar rec found. Articles of agreement between Abraham Browne and Josiah Abbott, both of Boston, dated 31 Dec 1690, show that Abbott deeded 3 parcels of land to Browne which had been part of the estate of his late wife's father, John Farrington of Dedham, which came to him by reason of marriage with Farrington's dau Hannah. In exchange Browne was to raise Abbott's dau Hannah, age 9 mo, Abbott's wife having lately deceased (Suffolk Co. Deeds, 15:178 [FHL #493937]). Boston vital records show that Josiah and Hannah Abbott had a son John born on 22 Aug 1687 (BOSTON BIRTHS, BAPTISMS, MARRIAGES AND DEATHS, 9th Report Boston Record Commissioners [Boston, 1883; repr Baltimore, 1994], 172 [FHL #974.461 V2a]).
DEATH: Articles of agreement, above, show that Hannah died between Mar and Dec 1690, apparently at Boston where the family resided.
