MAR #1: Bridport par reg, as cited in Clarence Almon Torrey, "English Origin of Major Aaron Cooke," TAG, 11(1935):180 (FHL #973 D25aga). The wife is called Elizabeth Cooke on mar rec. However, she is clearly the widow of Aaron Cooke, who was buried at Bridport, 28 Dec 1615 (Ibid). Aaron Cooke and Elizabeth Charde were married at Thorncombe, 2 Sep 1610 (W. P. W. Phillimore and Edmund Nevill, eds, DORSETSHIRE PARISH REGISTERS- MARRIAGES, 7 vols. [London, 1906-1914], Thorncombe, 2:118 [FHL #942.33 K29d]). They had a son Aaron baptized at Bridport, 20 Mar 1613/4, who called Thomas Ford "father-in-law" [stepfather] in deed to Joseph Parsons, 14 Mar 1671/2 (Windsor, Conn., Deeds, 1:64 [FHL #006188]).
MAR #2: "Hartford Births, Marriages, Deaths, 1635-1855," Barbour Collection (typescript, 1928; Conn. State Library, Hartford), 117 (FHL #002971). Wife is called Ann Scott, "widow," on mar rec, apparently the widow of Thomas Scott of Hartford, who died on 6 Nov 1643 leaving a nuncupative will. See abstract from Hartford District Probate in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 1:32 (FHL #974.6 P2m). Thomas and Ann Ford are probably the parents of the Ann Ford who married Thomas Newberry at Windsor, 12 Mar 1676/7.
