DEATH: No death rec found in original sources. Jonathan was said to have removed to Milford, NH and died at Crown Point in July 1776 while serving in the Revolutionary army (William P. Colburn, THE HISTORY OF MILFORD, [NH], 2 vols. [Concord, NH, 1901], 1:952 [FHL #974.28/M2 H2r]). Also see the adm of estate of Jonathan Towne of Amherst, 30 Apr 1777, Hillsborough Co., NH Probate, 2:574-75 (FHL #016070). This document shows that Jonathan has actually a resident of Amherst rather than Milford when he died.
