BIRTH: Richard is identified in the will of his father, Thomas Field of Hemel Hempstead, 18 Oct 1559, proved 19 Mar 1559/60, Archdeaconry Court of Huntingdon (Hunts Div), reg wills, 12:218 (FHL #187857). Nathaniel Field, a great-grandson of Thomas Field (1502) wrote that three generations of his grandfather's progenitors held the same house in Hemel Hempstead (Field, SOME SHORT MEMORIALS CONCERNING THE LIFE OF THAT REVEREND DIVINE DOCTOR RICHARD FIELD [London, 1716/7], 2, [FHL #000575]). Date of Richard's birth is an approximation.
